Disaster Preparedness for the Chronically Ill

Earthquakes, floods, tornadoes – they’ve been all over the news! What’s a chronically ill girl (and coach who speaks about planning and action) like me to do but think “OMG…am I READY??!! What do I do??”. That got me thinking, so away on the internet I flew. I couldn’t find anything readily available. Maybe I wasn’t looking hard enough, I don’t know. I mean I found a few things, but I decided to know for myself. So I did some phone calls.
As a chronic patient, you know how near and dear our medicines are. Most times, they are our connection to healthy living, hospitalization, or sometimes – death if we don’t take them. So what do we do when a tornado blows them away? What if a hurricane comes and washes them out to sea? What if the earth opens up and swallows them whole???
